Enabling Outgoing Mail Authentication

If you are experiencing difficulty sending mail from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Microsoft Entourage, Eudora or similar email software, this resolution may apply to you.

Please be aware that outgoing mail authentication is a relatively new requirement. As such, a minority of email software does not support outgoing authentication. Please check your software manufacturer's web site to be certain that you are using the current version of the program.
Additionally, please use up-to-date email software that supports a complete user name. Example: John@SeattleOpera.org. Older versions of common software may not support full user names.
